Descripción de la organización:

We are an independent art center located in the Protected Landscape Area called Kokořínsko in the Czech Republic. Our activities take place in the unique premises of a former farm from the early 19th century. We organize artistic residencies (resident artists are invited to live and create in our residential space for a predetermined period of time) and cultural events focused on contemporary live art. Our aim is to create a physical and mental space for live art and culture in connection with the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage. We want to support the creation of a relationship and co-responsibility of the population to the place where they live and bring new stimuli from the supraregional and international cultural environment.

We organize cultural events ourselves twice a year and about 6 times a year we rent our space for these purposes to our partner organizations. These are mostly one-day events. We focus mainly on performative art, i.e. music, theatre, literature and photography. Pre-exhibition and exhibitions are then available to the public and people from the area.

As for artistic residencies, we organize about 6 residencies per year, but in the future we plan to increase this number. As part of these stays, we have already hosted people from Poland, Argentina, El Salvador, India, Nigeria, Spain, France, Germany and Slovakia.

Our other activities include the protection of material cultural heritage. We try to preserve and restore the historically valuable objects of the farm in which we operate. We also focus on environmental protection and cultivation. Furthermore, we co-organize voluntary workcamps and workshops focused on protection of material cultural heritage and traditional crafts. We cooperate with Czech organizations such as INEX or Tamjdem. Their volunteers has already spent several weekends with us as part of the workcamps. Weekly workcamps also took place in our center.

We organize some of the events in cooperation with local associations and residents too. Together with the local association TJ SOKOL Vysoká, we annually provide a cultural program for the St. Wenceslas celebrations. Furthermore, we cooperate on community activities, such as planting trees, restoring historic roads or working with children. We also work with the local evangelical church, for example, we worked together on projects such as the Norwegian Film Festival.

We also cooperate with the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU, DAMU) and with the Faculty of Art and Design, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University.

We have experience with financing under the International Visegrad Fund and the Norway grants.

Our target group are people from the field of art and music, people interested in art and the general public of all ages, but rather older than 15 years.

We are member of an open cultural organization supporting performing arts and open culture called Nová síť.
