The Association of Socially Helpless Therapy of Sighnaghi Region (Qedeli Community) is a dynamic life-sharing community for adults with mental and physical disabilities in Georgia. Qedeli Community is a therapeutic residence based on anthroposophical philosophy. It nurtures, supports and celebrates the uniqueness of every individual. Since 1999 the community has grown to 28 residents and 17 employees living in 3 residential houses.
Qedeli Community pursues its goal mainly on a grassroots and regional level. The main tasks of Qedeli Community is to identify capabilities of its residents, develop their skills, teach them vocational activities, sustain their well being and support their integration into the society.
The community has 2 social enterprises-bakery and Art cafe, together with 3 workshops: carpentry, herbal studio and weaving and handicrafts. The community owns an organic garden, greenhouse and a pig farm for its own consumption. Residents are busy in these units daily. Besides, the community has group and individual therapy activities including eurythmy, art therapy and chorus. The main target group is the community residents-28 adults with mental and physical disabilities. Other people with disabilities living with families and students of Sighnaghi municipality are involved in projects and activities as well.
