Kahramanmaras is one of the major cities in Mediterranean region and it hosts the largest watershed, rich flora and clean
environment with a variety of animals. It combines historical texture with modern city concept, which is among the
provinces with the lowest crime rate, is a student city due to its economic life standards compared to other big cities. and
a city of culture. While the city hosts hundreds of cultural and artistic events throughout the year, it has a wide range of
socialization opportunities for students.
Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University was founded in the academic year 1992-1993. Our university has adopted the
principle of maintaining high education / training standards with social, scientific and cultural activities by renewing and
improving itself day by day since the day it was founded. Within our university as of 2019; There are 11 faculties, 4
colleges, 3 institutes, 8 vocational colleges, 5 departments affiliated to the rectorate, 21 application and research centers
and 1 health practice and research hospital. Our university has 8 campuses located in different parts of the city.
Our students at university usually have an educationally rather disadvantaged background as they come from families of
the lower or lower middle class located in Kahramanmaraş or the eastern parts of Turkey. Thus, as university we aim to
integrate these students into the social projects and make them active, take the advantages of socializing
