The Education League is established in France at different levels: 102 federations operate at the local level, united in regional unions and then at the national level. All the federations fall within the latter's field of action while being autonomous in the activities developed and carried out.
A secular popular education movement, the Ligue de l'Enseignement de Bourgogne Franche-Comté offers cultural, educational, sports and leisure activities for all and throughout life.
Its desire is to build enlightened citizens, capable of critical thinking and transforming their indignation into action and supporting society in its changes.
Association law 1901, the League of Education BFC through its network of 1,300 associations and 56,000 members, is close to the populations to meet their needs in all these areas. The result of the merger between the 2 former Burgundy and Franche-Comté Leagues, the association was created on January 1, 2017. It is made up of 8 departmental federations, and regional sports bodies such as USEP and UFOLEP.
It has regional services (itinerant cinema, tourist stays) and regional coordination on community life, civic service or even Reading and Making Read. It is represented in major public bodies, ensuring the link with its historical partners.
Cultural, sports and educational structures: since its inception, the Education League has been a partner of public schools and other educational structures, such as public libraries, cultural associations, sports clubs, thanks to the development of constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Education. We want to get involved in developing this unique life experience for young people. Thus, they will be able to discover other cultures, meet other people from other countries by living an experience of active citizenship by making themselves useful to others, it is also a real preparation for integration into working life.
