Collège Jean Renoir is a public lower secondary school located in Bourges (south of Centre-Val de Loire region – France). It welcomes 636 pupils in 2022.
In France, lower secondary studies last four years (classes de 6ème, 5ème, 4ème and 3ème) and are for children between 11 and 15 years of age, following five years of education at elementary level. The education provided at collège level complies with national programmes fixed by the State, in compliance with the “Common Base of Knowledge and Skills” that all pupils should have mastered by the end of their compulsory education. In addition, a range of special programmes seek to enable in-depth discovery of careers and training courses along with initial vocational training.
Our collège follows 4 main objectives :
- Pursue the policy of school attendance to give self-esteem and desire
- Pursue a pedagogical and educational policy that aims to reduce the effects of social background on school performance
- Pursue projects to bring the values of fraternity to life
- Pursue pedagogical and educational innovations and experiments to maintain the school's dynamics and performance
To achieve these objectives, our school develops several projects and partnerships all year long.
Our school is used to achieving many projects. Every year, many projects mixing different school subjects are suggested to our pupils such as Lezart ô college about collaborative writings, video making or wall paintings over the last years.
