"The Collège Jean Macé" is a school for children aged eleven to fifteen providing either a general or an adapted course.
In the adapted course, pupils are offered carpentry, hygiene and building classes as well as practical work and work placement sessions in companies. A total number of 384 pupils attend the school.
There are also training courses for adults (painting, floor covering).
Lastly, an association called "la Maison des Collégiens" whose members are composed of parents and teachers provides an activity leader working in the school 24 hours a week and whose aim is to offer pupils different activities during off-class time (morning break, lunch break, holidays). The activity leader and the children organize all sorts of activities. The actvivty leader implements different projects so that the children can fill their free time, open up on the city and discover leisure activities (flash mobs, role playing games, writing club, pizza sales trips etc.).
These activities promote solidarity, help children in the setting up of community projects and allow them to put their ideas into actions, thus giving them a sense of satisfaction.
