Description of organisation

The lycée JEAN RENOU is an upper secondary education institution in the French education system with 465 students. It prepares students for the French Baccalauréat examination. The curriculum in our lycée is diverse, offering a range of academic subjects such as mathematics, sciences, literature, social sciences, languages and music. Some programs include practical work, especially in the sciences, to provide students with hands-on experience. In the final year, students study philosophy, which is a distinctive feature of the French educational system and is a key component of the Bac examination. Physical education is a mandatory part of the curriculum, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Depending on the student's chosen path, there are options for specialized courses in some areas : laboratory sciences, robotics, political sciences, healthcare, orchestra, judo... Civic and moral education is integrated into the curriculum to foster responsible citizenship. Field trips and educational outings are common to enhance learning experiences outside the classroom.
The lycée Jean Renou is a boarding school for 50 students : it provides a structured environment conducive to focused learning, fostering a sense of independence and responsibility among students. It allows for immersion in extracurricular activities and student associations, promoting a well-rounded development. Living on-site facilitates stronger bonds among students, contributing to a supportive community.
