Rosa Parks Junior High School is a public school located in the rural town of Pouillon. There are 490 students, aged 10 to 15, divided into 18 divisions. There is a ULIS section for students with disabilities, and quality infrastructure. The 70 staff members work Monday to Friday. Since 2017, the college hosts a global security defense class, in partnership with the Dax army military base. Values such as commitment, tolerance, exemplarity and duty are enhanced. Project-based learning is developing. staff members are involved in a regular challenge of their educational methods to adapt to constantly changing pupils’ profiles. The school has also taken part in the Erasmus Drop In Project, aimed at developing non-formal educational methods. Project-based activities are implemented in the scope of one of the school priorities which is "guaranteeing equal opportunities” for all. The E3D and PHARe labels set guidelines for many learning projects related to sustainability, health, prevention of violence and discrimination. The Pass Culture, extended to all pupils, along with the cultural offer implemented by the County Council, enable us to organize cinema sessions, theatrical performances, creative workshops with artists. The overall school project encourages student commitment, civic and eco-friendly behaviour, health, solidarity, and trade discovery. Cooperation between students, families and staff members is at the core of the school project which encourages open-mindedness.
