Description de l'organisation

Jama Nyeta e.V. was founded to actively engage with young people, students, volunteers, youth workers, and activists on a local, regional, national, and international level. Our focus is on programs within both formal and non-formal education. Since our inception, we have been providing extracurricular learning support for young people, predominantly with West African migration backgrounds, particularly in the area of "learning to learn." One outstanding project is "Kalan Nafa" – Learning to Develop – Developing to Learn. In collaboration with the University of Cologne, two graduate students support the project by writing their master's theses.

Our organization comprises staff members, including education graduates who are willing to expand their pedagogical and organizational skills and open themselves to new cultures, traditions, and working processes in the youth work sector. Through our activities, we actively promote the opportunities offered by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) to unlock educational opportunities for young people through EU programs and offerings. Our motivation to apply for a quality label arose from close collaboration with non-governmental organizations in Europe, Africa, and worldwide, especially in the Erasmus+ program.

During our activities, students, volunteers, and young activists have shown great interest in the ESC. They aspire to work as volunteers in EU countries to acquire new knowledge and deepen their experiences in youth work. Our partnerships in the Erasmus+ program, particularly those partners experienced in the ESC, have encouraged us to apply and expand our activities in the European Solidarity Corps.

Not only is our organization motivated to serve as a hosting organization for volunteers from other EU countries, but it also possesses the capability, desire, and motivation to exchange experiences and provide education. We are confident that our participation in the European Solidarity Corps will not only support the goals of the ESC initiative but will also lead to enriching collaboration for all involved.
