The Franziskanische Bildungswerk gGmbH (FBW) is an institution for extracurricular youth, adult education and counselling since 45 years and pursues the following educational mission:
- the planning, promotion and realisation of international and national political-social, cultural and religious youth and adult education as well as family education

Another FBW project is the voluntary service FEE - Franciscan European Experience. This is a European, intercultural voluntary service that is planned and carried out in cooperation with the German Franciscan Province KdöR. The FEE voluntary service is intended to give young adults the opportunity to get to know an aid project in Europe properly and to immerse themselves in the respective country-specific culture and experience social, societal and political realities there. The promotion of the European community idea, intercultural experiences and a broadening of horizons for young people are the core elements of our voluntary service. The focus is on openness and lively engagement with Franciscan and European values: social commitment, intercultural exchange and peacemaking. FEE not only aims to bring Europe closer together, but also the Franciscan communities. FEE aims to familiarise young people with social action in Europe and enable them to help shape it themselves.
