Beskrivelse av organisasjon

Gödöllő Waldorf – the school of courageous pioneers
One of the first schools of the Hungarian Waldorf movement was founded in Gödöllő, the town outside of Budapest, home to the famous and popular castle that Sissi received from the Hungarians as a coronation gift in 1867.
Today almost 300 children attend the eight classes of the school and kindergarten.
The events that led to the establishment of the Waldorf institutions in Gödöllő started some time in the summer of 1988. The country that had been condemned to silence began to awaken at that time. So did a group of courageous pioneers who have the destiny of educating future generations. That resulted in the foundation of the kindergarten in 1990 and a year later, a school was founded in 1991.
Several teachers were trained in Witten-Annen. The School was built on the site of an agricultural institute by parents and the process led to the opening of the second Waldorf school in Hungary.
Our teachers set a long-term goal for adolescents to get back in touch with nature and engage them with everyday activities to counterbalance the negative effects of our time. In addition our school has been conducting organic farming for over 15 years, under the direction of experienced horticulture teachers.
The school also has some goats, chicken and a sheep that the students take care of every day. In addition all classes start their mornings by a long walk.
