Le Domaine du Rayol is a protected natural site located on the Mediterranean coast in the Var department, between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez, in the south of France. Owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Protection Agency) and managed by the non-profit association Le Domaine du Rayol – Association pour la Sauvegarde du Domaine du Rayol, the site is dedicated to environmental education, biodiversity preservation, and ecological transition.

Also known as the “Mediterranean Gardens,” the Domaine features a remarkable landscape that showcases plant species from Mediterranean climates around the world (California, South Africa, Australia, Chile, etc.). Designed by renowned landscape gardener Gilles Clément, the garden promotes ecological practices, respect for living organisms, and sustainable land management.

Each year, the Domaine welcomes more than 95,000 visitors and organizes a wide range of activities: guided tours, workshops, events, educational programs for schools, and training sessions. The site serves as a place of discovery, learning, and connection with nature, where both the general public and professionals can deepen their understanding of environmental challenges.

With a strong social mission, the Domaine also carries out inclusive initiatives aimed at people with disabilities, disadvantaged youth, and vulnerable groups, reinforcing its role as a space of solidarity, awareness, and engagement.
