Beskrivelse av organisasjon

The Castellum Cassovia Association operates in the area of the Košice Castle ruins, where it has been gradually developing an archaeological park and an educational-cultural space focused on reviving history, traditional crafts, and medieval ways of life. The organisation’s goal is to preserve and promote the region’s cultural heritage, support manual skills, local production, and ecological approaches to creation and consumption, and foster pride in cultural roots through education and experiential activities. Our organisation connects history, craftsmanship, and community. We focus on building the archaeological park, operating an information centre, organising craft workshops, cultural events, and historical reenactments, as well as educating children, young people, and adults through non-formal, experience-based learning. We are involved in projects related to living history, ecological construction, and experimental archaeology. Our target groups include children and youth, families, seniors, the local community, and visitors to the city of Košice who are interested in discovering history and traditional culture in connection with nature. We also involve people with fewer opportunities, long-term unemployed individuals, and volunteers from different age groups in our activities. Our vision is to create a living space for encounters and cooperation, where history meets modern approaches to education, sustainability, and solidarity.
