The International Journalists Association e.V. (IJA) is a non-profit organisation based in Germany, working in the fields of journalism, youth participation, media literacy, and intercultural dialogue. The organisation aims to empower young people to actively participate in democratic life by strengthening their media competencies, critical thinking skills, and social responsibility. IJA’s main objectives are to promote freedom of expression, ethical and responsible journalism, media literacy, and cross-cultural understanding. The organisation places a strong focus on supporting young people—especially young journalists, media students, migrants, refugees, and youth with fewer opportunities—in gaining skills and experience through non-formal education and international cooperation. The organisation’s key activities include international youth exchanges, training courses, workshops, and seminars focused on journalism, digital media, and combating disinformation. IJA also provides mentoring and capacity-building opportunities for young journalists and content creators, while producing educational and journalistic content that amplifies youth voices and promotes human rights and European values. Through its work, IJA creates inclusive learning environments that encourage active citizenship, solidarity, and intercultural dialogue. By participating in the European Solidarity Corps, the organisation aims to offer meaningful volunteering experiences that benefit both young people
