The main goal of the project is to enrich Elva Youth Centre activities and daily routine with volunteer activities. Main expected activities for the volunteer are: writing projects (possible to submit at least two projects in the field of youth work and international youth work – Erasmus+/youth exchange) and participation in the youth projects, cooking lessons/workshops, making contacts at the youth centre during the opening time with the children and youngsters, providing language lessons (Portuguese, English, if applicable), cultural awareness (organising cultural events), helping to organise chess/checkers competitions, promoting the organisation, creating posters and keeping blog, assisting another kind of hobby classes (depends on the volunteer’s personal interests and skills) like dance, handicraft, ceramics, art, making animation movies, sport etc.
TranslateAccommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation, food and transport is covered in the frame of the project. It is possible to live in Tartu (the second biggest city in Estonia) or in Elva (where the EVS is taken place). The distance between Tartu and Elva is 25 km.
TranslateTraining during the project
The volunteer will have an on-arrival training (the first one is already in november 12-16 in Tallinn). The project also covers the course of Estonian language.
TranslateVolunteer profile
Volunteer is youngster in the age 18-30. We are waiting for volunteer, who is open-minded, friendly and with a positive thinking and an active attitude. Her/his previous experience on working with youngsters comes in handy, but the most important is that volunteer is motivated to participate in this project. We appreciate if the volunteer has specific skill(s) that she/he can share/teach at the youth centre with youngsters.
