Telling Diversities: interculturality on-air

Projektbeschreibung

The volunteer will be making the service at Radio Beckwith Evangelica. This small local radio manages information and documentation activities about the local context, which include traditional, intercultural and inclusion aspects. Volunteers will learn how to communicate diversities or the richness of the local traditions through placement's radio broadcasts, but also through the management of social media channel and video production. Volunteers will constantly be in contact with local communities and with other projects with youngsters, refugees and asylum seekers. The project aims to develop in the participating volunteers two types of competences: intercultural competences (ICC) and technologial and communication competences (ICT). The volunteers will develop their own radio program to talk about interculturality and communication, they will create and develop it indipendently with the support of the radio staff.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

The volunteers will live together in an apartment in Torre Pellice a small village near Torino. They will live in 3/4 volunteers from differen countries. They will have double room and share the common spaces like kitchen, bathroom, living room. The apartment will be on the groundfloor of a big villa with a big park and other people living in the other floors. The volunteers have indipendent access at the apartment. There will be to bycicles at use of the volunteers. Pocket money and food allowance will be given at the beginning of each months to the volunteers.

Fortbildung im Rahmen des Projekts

The volunteer will attend 3 trainings: welcome training (10 days with intensive italian course), mid-term seminar (6 days), final seminar (3 days). These trainings are organized by the coordinating organizations for the hosted volunteers (around 55). The mid-term seminar will be hosted in Firenze. During the service the volunteers will a task related training about the use of communication tools in the work of a radio. The volunteers will also take part at 2 seminars organised by the national agency. There will be italian lessons every week, on friday afternoon.

Freiwilligenprofil

The volunteer doesn't need any knowledge in italian on the in media communication field. The volunteer need to be interested in the project, willing to learn new thing and to challenge him/herself in new tasks. The volunteer needs to have an active role in the project, proposing and developing idea. The volunteer also need to know that the placement is in a small village from which 1 hour and half is needed to reach Turin with public transportation.
