The main activities of the project are: - organizing creative workshops, sport activities, leisure time and games for individuals with intellectual disabilities, - assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities with their daily life tasks, - involving individuals with intellectual disabilities in volunteering and in events that promote inclusion. This project will give volunteers an opportunity to learn and work in a diverse and challenging environment, get to know the challenges of Croatian reality and aid in the enhancement of solidarity in our society, particularly among vulnerable groups. Desire of all sides participating in this project is to make a change in communicating with/about people with intellectual disabilities.

Center for Rehabilitation Zagreb (CRZ) will organize trainings for volunteers in order to introduce them with theoretical background and practical guidelines for working with people with intellectual disabilities. Volunteers will be provided with learning experience on specific problems of this particular vulnerable group by expert CRZ staff (social workers, rehabilitators and pedagogues for work with children). The educational activities will be ongoing during the course of the service in order to deepen their understanding of needs of the target group and provide appropriate assistance.

We are open to accepting young people from 18-30 years of any profile motivated for working with people with intelectual disabilities.

Send your CV and motivation letter to evs@vcz.hr by 15th of August 2016. The selection process will take place from 16-22 August via skype interview. The final selection results will be anounced by the end of August.
