Moot Court for the environment

This event is a Green Track Stop, part of the #TheGreenTrack initiative to mobilise young people in the fight to protect and restore our natural world.

The UCLy Faculty of Law and the Lyon Administrative Court are organising a mock environmental trial. It deals with issues related to the sale of eco-responsible food by food trucks in natural areas. It will be held at the Palais des Juridictions administratives de Lyon. This mock trial should take place in the framework of the EU Green Week 2022 organised by the European Commission. This complex exercise brings together students of the Climate and Sustainable Development Law degree of the Faculty of Law of UCLy: two teams of lawyers composed of students will plead before a team of judges composed of 4 students. These teams will compete under the watchful eye of two lawyers specialised in environmental law and the magistrates of the Court who prepared them. Similar mock trials are also being conducted by other universities: Utrecht (Netherlands), Dublin (Ireland)... Students from Lyon and other European universities will present their work in a video conference during the Greenweek.
