This event is a Green Track Stop, part of the #TheGreenTrack initiative to mobilise young people in the fight to protect and restore our natural world!

Earth Advocacy Youth (EAY) will bring together young Europeans interested in long-term preservation of Earth’s life support systems to discuss current legal protection of living systems in the EU and the role that the rights of Nature may play in shaping the European environmental agenda. Speakers and participants will investigate potential interventions in the European legal framework, as well as what inspires young leaders advancing the legal and cultural recognition of rights for non-human living systems. This conference will generate a space where young leaders learn more about a bold yet pragmatic environmental movement and how to actively participate in their local communities to demand the implementation of Earth-based solutions, in line with recent developments in the EU environmental legal doctrine and CBD COP15. Participants will engage with each other as well as with inspiring keynote speakers and co-facilitators of the event.

In the context of the event, EAY will officially launch the Earth Advocacy Lab, a virtual, experimental, and interactive advocacy platform rooted in Earth Jurisprudence. The platform is focused on examining, dissecting, and confronting the implementation challenges of policies, laws, and frameworks that address biodiversity, climate governance, and transition through multidisciplinary youth-led advocacy.
