Concorso “I giovani e le scienze 2022 (Italian Contest for Young Scientists)

The Italian Contest I giovani e le scienze, open to all upper secondary school students, has been organized since 1989 by FAST-the Italian Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations, based in Milan, with the aim to foster both skills and scientific and technological potential of Italian students, offering the most significant opportunities to match, grow and develop in science and its applications. The fundamental objectives of the competition are the following: to bring young people closer to science and research and encourage scientific careers; to stimulate the spirit of innovation and collaboration among young people; to develop their creativity and foster awareness of the importance of research as a development factor for society. The competition is aimed at students aged 14 to 20, who can participate with a project carried out individually or in groups of up to three candidates. If selected by the Jury, they are allowed to take part in the final event organized in Milan in Spring every year, where they can present their work to journalists, invited scientists, large public, other participants and students who foresee to participate in the following years.

On behalf of the European Commission, FAST is the Italian National Organizer with the task of selecting the best students and projects every year, rewarding them with participation at EUCYS-European Union Contest for Young Scientists and in the most prestigious international events for youth and science.
Each year, some international projects from other countries are invited to participate together with the Italian students, to create an occasion to meet different cultures and broaden horizons.

This initiative is organized within the Program of Enhancement of Excellence and Dissemination of Scientific Culture of the Ministry of Education.

This event is for people between the ages of 14-20.
