Let’s encourage youth talent on World Youth Skills Day!

poslední aktualizace úterý, 05/07/2022

Declared in 2014 by the United Nations General Assembly, World Youth Skills Day takes place every year on 15 July to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.

World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, firms, employers’ and workers’ organisations, policy-makers and development partners.

This year 2022, World Youth Skills Day will highlight the ongoing focus on the Transforming Education Summit. The celebration will have two events: one online event that will take place on 7-8 July 2022 from 2:00 to 4:30 pm SGT (GMT+8), and a hybrid global event that will take place on 15 July 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm (EDT).

Online event

The main symposium “YOUth matters: Celebrating skills for the future”, will start a series of programmes and events to celebrate WYSD Asia-Pacific 2022. The opening plenary will focus on challenges and solutions faced by institutions in ensuring that TVET is demand-driven and future-focused. Do you want to join the event? Register here.

Hybrid global event

The "Transforming youth skills for the future" global event will bring together youth, governments, UN agencies, private sector and civil society representatives to analyse the impact of current crises on youth across the world, and discuss how young people can quickly adapt to the demands of an ever-changing world.

The event will take place in the Ecosoc Chambre in the United Nations Headquarters. For online participants, the registration link for this event will soon be available here.
