Young Journalists in Europe

The Pool of Young Journalists in Europe was first created in the frame of the European Year of Youth. It involves young people aged 18–30 in creating content for the European Youth Portal and sharing their views with the rest of Europe for one year.

These young journalists have the freedom to choose the topics they want to cover and can either create podcasts, articles, or videos. They develop their skills and address young people in Europe with their unique views on all sorts of interesting topics.

Eligible countries for the next years:

  • 2027: France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Ireland, Denmark, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Cyprus.
  • 2028: Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Belgium, Greece, Austria, Serbia, Norway, Finland, North Macedonia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Moldova (tbc).
  • 2029: Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Croatia, Slovenia, Georgia, Latvia, Malta, Iceland.

Save the date: Applications for the 2027 edition open on 22 September 2026! Keep an eye on the European Youth Portal to learn how to apply!
