DigiMar Play Tournament: Shaping the Future of Post-Disaster Cities towards SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)
As part of European Youth Week, DigiMar Play Tournament invites young people to actively contribute to shaping the future of post-disaster cities in line with Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
This interactive, game-based activity provides a participatory platform where youth explore issues of urban recovery, resilience, social justice, and inclusivity through role-playing and collaborative decision-making. Participants assume different stakeholder roles—such as citizens, planners, architects, and local authorities—to better understand how urban choices impact communities after disasters.
By integrating play, dialogue, and digital storytelling supported by VR, DigiMar empowers young people to reflect on real urban challenges, exchange perspectives, and co-create solutions that support safe, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.
Aligned with the core values of European Youth Week, this activity:
strengthens youth participation in urban decision-making,
promotes solidarity and fairness in post-disaster recovery,
and supports active citizenship through creative engagement.
Join us to rethink recovery, co-design resilience, and build sustainable urban futures—together.
