Managing stress and anxiety through mindfulness

The workshop will focus on psychoeducation about the effects of stress and anxiety on mental and physical health. The psychologist will discuss common symptoms and causes of anxiety, as well as evidence-based strategies for managing these conditions. This will include topics such as grounding techniques, distraction techniques, breathing techniques, meditation, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to managing negative thoughts.
In addition, there will be a kinesiology part designed to help participants manage stress and anxiety. The dance teacher will guide the participants through a series of exercises, emphasizing the connection between movement, breathing, and attention. These exercises are accessible to people of all experience and fitness levels and are designed to be modified so that people with any injuries or limitations can participate.
Combining psychoeducation and kinesiology, this workshop offers a comprehensive approach to stress and anxiety management that addresses both mind and body. This topic is relevant to many people, as anxiety and stress have a significant impact on our quality of life. Participants may be interested in learning more about evidence-based strategies for managing stress and anxiety, as well as participating in a gentle yoga practice that supports relaxation and mindfulness.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide participants with an integrated approach to stress and anxiety management that combines psychoeducation and kinesiology.
