A night in a hammock in the Oslo wilderness
Spend the night in a hammock by one of the beautiful lakes in Oslo! Norway is probably best known for its mountains and fjords. In Oslo we have none of that. We do have our Norwegian woods though, called Marka, and they are amazing. Act like a local and spend the night by the lake Øyungen.
The USE-IT Oslo info desk will provide you with a hammock, a sleeping bag, a meal for the trip and a 24h transportation ticket.
Located on the northern side of Maridalen, Øyungen is a short hike from the nearest bus stop. From Oslo Central Station, take bus 54 (Kjelsås) to Godals vei. Switch there to bus 51 (Maridalen) and exit at Skar. From Skar you follow the trail to Øyungen lake, located about 2,5 km from the bus stop. The trail is marked all the way to the lake with the name "Øyungsdammen" of "Øyungen".
Practical information:f
If you have made a reservation you can start by dropping by the USE-IT Oslo office in Tollbugata 8, where we will provide you with gear and food for the trip. We will also give you information and directions on where to go, and a 24h transportation ticket that you can use on the bus.
