Sabrine is a student in Tunisia, she took part in a Social Circles session about Climate Change.
Social Circles are short online dialogue exchange opportunities, bringing together young people from various backgrounds. Sabrine took part in a small group discussion about a key issue that matters to her: “I am truly engaged with the discussions around climate action in ‘real’ life,” explains Sabrine.
“I loved the fact that everyone was very respectful and was interested in hearing my ideas. I also liked when facilitators asked questions to awaken our critical thinking.”
Sabrine acknowledges the effort of her session’s facilitator, a third party who helps the group to have a constructive, respectful and authentic discussion. “He made the session very successful. Thanks to him we were at ease to joke and be humorous at times and also serious and personal during other moments.”
“Social Circles gave me a secure space to join at a time I was feeling lonely. It helped me distract myself from other worries and problems I was facing to engage myself in a meaningful discussion, concludes Sabrine.”
