Discover new horizons and learn a language with OLS
Data dell'ultima modifica Giovedì, 18/07/2024
If you love to explore the EU by studying, volunteering or working, or travel just for the fun of it, learning another language will open many doors for you. Online Language Support (OLS) helps you learn language basics in a fun, immersive way.
The best way to learn a language is to engage all of your senses – which is what OLS offers everyone. Choose from 29 languages and start with the animated introductory videos. You’ll discover some of the treasures that make each language unique – its people, art, music, literature and food. See the example for English.
Then, learn essential words and phrases for everyday situations with our ‘language basics’ videos. There are five for each language to help you master introducing yourself, meeting people, shopping, seeing the doctor or getting from A to B. Take the quiz afterwards to test your understanding. OLS for mobility participants
If you’re a mobility participant with Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps, there’s more in store. Once you receive the invitation link from your institution/organisation, you can register on OLS and take a language assessment that will recommend the right level for you to start at.
You will have access to beginner’s courses for 29 languages that will build your skills with quizzes, videos, listening and writing exercises.
If you learn English, French, German, Spanish or Italian, you can challenge yourself with the advanced courses, or discover Euronews videos about topics like underwater archaeology or preventing food waste.
As a vocational education and training learner, you can explore one of 10 topics, from logistics and catering to social work and healthcare.
Mobility participants – join a community
Every language has its own community where you can ask questions about all aspects of your mobility experience and participate in discussions moderated by community managers. The community managers are native speakers who answer your questions, offer advice and stimulate discussions with posts, quizzes and fun facts about their country.
Plus you get to participate in competitions, like the OLS video contest, where you can win great prizes, and in OLS open days, where you can meet your fellow learners and your language community manager.
So what are you waiting for? Join OLS to learn languages!
