European Solidarity Corps turns four

Последно ажурирана на Среда, 04/11/2020

September 2020 marked the 4th anniversary of the European Solidarity Corps.

Since the creation of the Corps in 2016, more than 254 000 young people have registered to join the Corps and 47 000 have been or still are on their solidarity mission.

Back in September 2016 the former president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker announced the European Solidarity Corps in his State of the Union address. The idea was to support the many socially minded young people to make meaningful contributions to society and show solidarity, help them gain invaluable experience and address unmet needs in Europe’s communities in the shape of a corps (aka arm, service, branch) of like-minded citizens and organisations willing to be active agents of positive change.

We are glad to see that the Corps community is growing bigger. We want to thank all those more than 47 000 young people across Europe who already took part or still are on their solidarity activity for their enthusiasm and commitment to become active agents of positive change!
