Join up Youth4OutermostRegions and lead action for positive change in your community!

YOUTH4ORs will provide support to good ideas improving local communities and fostering development in the outermost regions. Two calls for actions will support young people aged 15-24, during 6-10 months, with a budget per action of EUR 5 000-10 000.

Around 5 million European Union citizens live in the EU outermost regions located in the Atlantic and in the Indian Oceans, in the Caribbean Sea and in South America. While these regions are an integral part of the European Union, they face major challenges due to their remoteness, insularity (for most of them), small size, topography and vulnerably to extreme weather events. Especially for youth, prospects are limited in these regions, with high levels of unemployment and early school leaving.

To further support the outermost regions, in May 2022, the European Commission adopted a strategy entitled “Putting people first, securing sustainable and inclusive growth, unlocking the potential of the EU’s outermost regions”. This strategy seeks to help improve people’s living conditions in these regions and stimulate sustainable recovery and growth, including a project for empowering youth and generating opportunities, such as YOUTH4ORs.
