ReSet the Trend - join the campaign to make fast fashion out of fashion!
Τελευταία ενημέρωση Πέμπτη, 16/03/2023
Fast fashion depletes our resources and generates tonnes of waste. Join the ReSet the Trend campaign and find out how we can all contribute to a more sustainable textiles sector. Together, let’s make fast fashion out of fashion.
In the EU, about 5.8 million of tonnes of textiles are discarded every year, equivalent to 11.3 kg per person. Manufacturing one cotton T-shirt consumes 2,700 litres of water - enough drinking water to last one person for two and a half years. The impact of fast fashion on our resources and the waste it generates are simply not sustainable. But we can all take steps to re-set the trend.
You too can play your part, by joining ReSet The Trend, the European Commission’s campaign to engage young Europeans in the battle against fast fashion and raise public awareness about the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles.
Under the motto #ReFashionNow, the campaign attempts to address this problem by raising awareness about the environmental, social, economic and health-related benefits of transforming the textiles sector. It also highlights the opportunities that sustainable fashion opens up for both businesses and consumers.
Building on the success of the European Year of Youth, the campaign is meant to empower young Europeans to become role models and make fast fashion out of fashion.
