The "GREEN FINGERS – Oasis For Children" is an EVS project planned to take place over 2 months from April 15th 2018 to January 14th 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia. The project will bring together 12 short term and 2 long term volunteers from 7 countries (Portugal, Spain Italy, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey) and engage them in the realisation of activities on maintaining 3-5 school gardens together with around 2000 children and teachers. The volunteers will also have as tasks teaching their native languages to children with non-formal education methods, organising workshops on the topic of environmental protection, work on crafting projects in the school yards and organise and promote public events (“Urban Garden Party” and awareness event for the World environment Day).
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Volunteers will be accommodated in a local hostel that we have used on our other EVS programs and received positive feedback. Rooms will be shared with up to 5 other volunteers. Food provided will be vegetarian as promoting vegetarianism is important to us from two aspects – sustainability and nonviolence. Costs of travel, accommodation, food, local transportation and activities will be covered by hosting organisation. The travel costs of participants will be covered up to maximal travel cost per country according to Erasmus+ program distance bands.

Volunteers should be able to express why they are interested in the themes of this project. Working in nature, Gardening, the Environment and working with children. The Working language is ENGLISH.
