Solas Project After Schools support

Solas After School Ltd

Solas Project

Dublin, Ireland

Description

The After Schools Club provides a purposeful activity in a safe environment to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of children aged 5 - 10 years. Solas Project specifically targets these children because they are at risk of early school leaving due to social and educational disadvantage. We cater for up to 35 children living in challenging circumstances in Dublin. The Club strives to be a home away from home. We provide the structure of sitting around a table to have a meal, helping with homework, and doing a fun activity together. What's involved in this role? - Building up rapport with the children, playing with them, and intentionally investing in the relationship. - Supervising mealtime, activity time and motivating the children to participate and engage with the programme. - Organising and initiating activities, games and free time for the children. - Menu planning, preparing, cooking and serving food. - Cleaning up programme space daily.
