Description

We are looking for two volunteers willing to work with teenagers who experience social and psychological difficulties at school, in their families, with their peers or while seeking employment. There are two projects for them: - Tramplinas: programme is aimed at young people between 14 and 18 years old. The goal of the programme is to help young people get to know themselves better and to strengthen personal qualities that are necessary to operate in everyday life. - Tranzitas: is designed for 12 – 14 years old teenagers. The main purpose of the group is to help the youth to undergo easier difficulties evoked during their early teens and to create secure environment for socializing with contemporaries. Main aims for EVS: -Create contact and relationships with youngsters; -Be willing to reflect and learn with youngsters and with team; -Help organizing group activities; -Help organizing experiential weekends; -Be involved in group process.

Gisting, fæði og ferðatilhögun

Volunteer will live in a rented flat with other EVS volunteers. He will have his own room. In the flat volunteers will share kitchen, bathroom, hall. The main dishes, furniture and domestic electric appliances (washing-machine, cooker, and fridge) will be in the flat. Organization will give a local transport ticket, phone card, pocket money and food money.

Training during the activity

Volunteer will get 4 trainings (in some cases – meetings) in your EVS: • pre-departure (in volunteer's home country organized by the Sending organization) • On-arrival training organized by Lithuanian National Agency about 2-3 weeks after arrival; • Mid-term training organized by Lithuanian National Agency approximately in the middle of the service); • Final evaluation (in volunteer's home country organized by the Sending organization)

Participant profile

We expect that you are active and have a great desire to learn about youth work from this experience. We also would like to make sure that you are strong enough to deal with problems of teenagers living their hard times and you are not afraid to hear even some bad words from their side. We are also expecting that you are a bit crazy and have a wish to put some energy in having fun with youngsters, together organise some camps, outside weekends or other type of events.
