Support ESC Volunteering: Be Part of ICJA in Berlin!

Περιγραφή

ICJA is a non-profit organization that sends German volunteers, abroad for one year. Its aim is to facilitate respectful and open interactions between people from different cultures and religious backgrounds. ICJA understands its exchange program as an educational opportunity. Central to ICJA’s concept are contact, cooperation and a fruitful exchange between volunteers coming from all over the world. There are around 35 people working in the office in Berlin. The main task of the volunteer will be assisting within the ESC sending department like f.e. General administration and research work, Communication with participants, assisting in the application process, political education work with volunteers, conducting online workshops/seminars, translating of texts and at seminars (English/German), social media work, responds to applicants' questions or concerns. Please be aware that the tasks are mostly administrative (90%) and less pedagogical (10%) as well as it’s office work.

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

The volunteer will receive food fee (345 Euro/month), pocket money (7€ per day), money for public transport(Deutschland Ticket, 63€ per month). The volunteer will receive a financial support to the travel costs from their place of origin to Germany and back, the amount depends on the distance travelled. They will also receive health insurance. Accomodation: Because of the housing shortage in Berlin, it is very difficult for us to find a room for volunteers. For this reason, it is very important that you are flexible about the accommodation. The volunteer is going to live in a shared apartment.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

The volunteer will take part in the regular capacity training for staff members as well as the mandatory ESC trainings (On Arrival and Mid Term Training).

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

Very good knowledge of German (Advanced B2/C1) and English (B2). German is our working language and it is very important that you bring these language skills with you! You should be open-minded and motivated, willing to take responsibility, work independently, bring in own skills and interests - ability to work in a team - knowledge of Office Programs - interest in International Youth Exchange, Office work - interest in administrative tasks - interest in global learning and transcultural topics as well as topics like racism, sexism, classism.
