Communication Volunteer

FEDERACION ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK ESPAÑA

Erasmus Student Network Spain (ESN Spain)

Madrid, Spain

Description

This volunteer activity will focus on implementing a communication campaign -both online and offline- in order to promote EU mobility opportunities to young people. You will be involved from the design and approach to the implementation and evaluation of the campaign, and you will work closely with the Communications Manager and the Web Developer of ESN Spain. During the volunteering period, you will learn how to set objectives and goals, decide which communication channels better fit for the campaign, graphic design, press releases, Social Media management, etc.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will have the accommodation of his/her choice covered by ESN Spain. We will help you in looking for an apartment in order to choose an area close and comfortable to reach ESN Spain Office. Additionally, a monthly stipend will be provided to cover meals and local transportation, along with pocket money. Support will also be provided to cover the travel expenses for the round trip to Madrid.

Training during the activity

You will receive training on communication in youth entities, event organisation and European mobility programs throughout your volunteering experience, tailored to your prior knowledge. Furthermore, you will participate in at least two ESN Spain training events, where you will develop both hard and soft skills in areas such as the internationalization of education, inclusion, social impact, human resources, and more. Emphasis will be placed on identifying and recognizing the skills acquired during the volunteer experience. To this end, training will be provided on Youthpass and CV design.

Participant profile

We expect the future Communication Assistant to demonstrate a sense of responsibility, flexibility, proactivity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The
candidate should also be highly motivated for the role. Additionally, we hope they bring an open mind to innovate and bring fresh ideas to ESN Spain’s communication efforts. Basic knowledge of graphic design, social media management, institutional communication, photo editing, content writing, and optionally SEO/SEM optimization, will be important for the day-to-day work at the ESN Spain office. Participation in voluntary and/or youth organisations will be positively assessed. We expect motivation in learning Spanish too, as the activity will be developed in this language. But previous knowledge in Spanish is not required.
