Description
The ESC can be either long-term (2 - 12 months) or short term (14 - 60 days for volunteers with fewer opportunities such as economical, cultural, social or other obstacles). Volunteering will take place in Sousse, Tunisia in ASED organisation. ASED have years of experience with volunteers from all around the world. At ASED we believe in versatility so your activities are not going to be limited to one field. Your service here will entail a wide range of tasks including: - teaching English at a kindergarten - working with children at an orphanage - assisting at a flower garden (repotting, gardening, watering) - discussion clubs with Tunisian youth - extra activities such as beach cleanup, olive harvesting* - PERSONAL PROJECTS** * extra activities - our association organises weekend events you are welcome to participate in. Their primary aim is to provide a platform for cultural exchange.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Your accommodation is situated in Tantana, a touristic district of Sousse near the beach. It is 15 km from the center of Sousse, but it is an easy and cheap commute. Sousse is a touristic city on the eastern coast of Tunisia. You will live together with other volunteers in an apartment in Tantana, Chott Meriem. It’s a touristic area with restaurants, cafes and shops. The apartment is close to the sea, it’s approximately a 5 minute-walk. It consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a huge terrace.
Participant profile
There are no specific skills required. Important is motivation to help local community and learn from them as well. We expect volunteer to be: -18-30 years old -to be tolerant and have open mind towards other cultures, opinions and background
