We are a free democratic primary school and nursery/kindergarden in the Czech Republic. We are based on the principles of Turquoise, Teal organisation. We are searching for volunteers to enhance the environment of self-directed education using the English language and the culture of the participant. We expect the volunteer to be able to communicate well in English. The volunteers will take part in the life of the school, they will become an inherent part of the school activities starting from the morning circle followed by lessons and events held on the premises as well as in the exterior. The participants will be included in the daily running of the school community. They will usually start the day at 8:15 by joining as assistants to the guides up until 2:30 p.m. the latest. The volunteers will gain experience from non-formal and informal education and at the same time bring their own knowledge and experience to the school.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
The volunteers will be accommodated in the newly acquired building of the school. The room will be fully equipped with fresh bed linen, toilet, shower and washbasin and it's fully heated in winter. It's located in the small town of Příbor. The participants can prepare their own meals in the place of accommodation. There are small shops and a supermarket in the town as well as some restaurants. Our beautiful region offers a variety of free-time activities.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
The participants will be trained in non-violent communication, facilitation, mediation and other styles of conflict solution. They will also learn to cooperate with students and adults on different tasks, such as managment of events and the organization of trips. They will experience self-directed education and thus internalise free and democratic principles. They will develop their imagination and creative and social skills, e.g. work in team, sharing responsibility, etc.. Last but not least their self-confidence will rise in the environment of equal rights and opportunities.
Teilnehmerprofil
We are searching for a volunteer with a good knowledge of English and experienced in teaching/working with children. We prefer candidates who have studied in the pedagogical field and have experience with free democratic system of education.
