Description
Offener Kanal Dessau is a local citizens´ TV broadcaster in Dessau-Roßlau. Citizens´ TV means that the citizens from Dessau-Roßlau themselves produce all content for the TV programm. There are no professional editors. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas. You will assist in the production of various programs and films, particularly in the areas of script, camerawork and cutting. You will be involved in the recording of live events, such as concerts, theatres, debates, etc., and you will also assist in the production in our television studio. You will also produce your own films with topics of your choice. Further areas of activity include general.In addition, the volunteer will have the chance to produce his / her own film. Further areas of activity include general organizational tasks (such as technical work, archiving, programming, etc.) as well as assistance in the presentation of video workshops in schools and youth centers.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will stay in a flat-share. You will have your own bedroom with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is included. In the beginning of the month, you will receive the money to cover your food expenses (the rate is decided by the national agency) and pocket money for your own expenses. Currently, it is 10,43€/day for food and 7€/day for pocket money. During workshops, training, seminars the volunteer will be provided with 3 meals per day. For those days the volunteer will receive no food money. You will receive money to cover transportation.
Training during the activity
During your ESK, you will have two obligatory seminars: On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Seminar. Once a month you will have a meeting with all volunteers of Magdeburg to discuss the current situation, organize activities together or visit the other projects. There also will be opportunities to participate in some workshops. Important is that they should not overlap with your main tasks and activities.
Participant profile
○ interest/experience in journalism, media, film-making ○ open-minded, ready to interact in teams and with people from different cultures ○ preferably experience in working with Adobe Premier or DaVinci Resolve ○ experience/skills in managing workshops and social media would be an asset ○ basic german skills Please send your motivation letter and your CV with contact details to esc@agsa.de.
