The purpose of this project is to offer children a place to grow and develop in a stimulating environment using the Montessori and Freinet approaches combined with outdoors learning in a forest school. The ecological aspect is a strong part of the project in every initiative we start. Our volunteer will be part of the educational team. The school welcomes 60 children from 3 to 14 years old. Volunteers will support our teaching team for outdoor/nature activities, organize activities under supervision of the teaching team, help our nature educators for garden or farm activities, be actively involved in the management of lunch breaks such as warming up the lunch box, helping, interacting and watching the kids during lunch and their freetime in the garden. Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
The volunteer will live in Kembs in a room with own bathroom, in a guest family. The volunteer will share the meals with the guest family. The volunteer will then have to take the bike to come to the school (about 10 minutes). The volunteer will receive a monthly pocket money.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
There will be opportunity to attend personal development training sessions. Being on a daily basis with teachers, Montessori guide as well as with nature educators is already a wonderful training opportunity which might be valuable for the next step in the volunteer career. You will be provided with a mentor from the education team as well as from the association.
Teilnehmerprofil
We are looking for a 21 to 30's volunteer. We expect from our volunteer that he/she loves children and has a level of sensitivity to work with children. School activities will be guided by French educators. Members of the team speak English or French. If possible, the volunteer will have some basis in French. In addition, we would like to find a volunteer interested in ecological initiatives and in the development of a pedagogic garden. It is important for our volunteer to be an outdoor person. Duration of the volunteering is flexible (from 2 months to 4 months).
