In the district of Karlsruhe, in the municipality of Linkenheim-Hochstetten, the Johannes Diakonie maintains a nursing home for people with disabilities and additional high care needs. Up to 24 people with disabilities live in “Am Biegen”, which is a three-storey new building in the new residential area. In addition, there are day-care offers for residents as well as for external users. Comprehensive support and needs-based assistance are provided as well as integration assistance. Nursing needs are also covered depending on the target group. Great emphasis is placed on individual needs and social participation. Offers include: close-meshed support in everyday life (eg. visits to the doctor, hairdresser and other daily needs), individual health promotion, activities within the daily routines, Cooperation with clubs and other social organizations, Offers for leisure activities
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is provided locally and fully paid by Johannes Diakonie Mosbach. Full board (288€) is paid monthly. Costs for a local transport ticket and for travel to Linkenheim-Hochstetten are also paid by Johannes Diakonie Mosbach
Training during the activity
Arrival and mid-term training through National Agency. On the job training at the location. Events arranged for all volunteers by Johannes Diakonie.
