Description
The collaborative working space « Le Lieu-Dix », located in Saint-Lô city centre, is a lively and dynamic place where people exchange and develop social and environmental projects. “Le Lieu Dix” is looking for a volunteer to help the coordinator carrying out different activities : - communicate on professional social networks about the activities and services that Le Lieu-Dix offers, - organise creative workshops on topics that you like (handiwork, cooking, art, dance, music etc.), - help “Les Saltimbrés”, an organisation which promotes circus arts for well-being, during circus classes with young people every Wednesday, - participate in the organisation of the festival 'Du jardin à l'assiette'. The position starts in March and lasts until the end of June 2026. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Activities take place in Saint-Lô (about 19 000 inhabitants), in the nice Normandy region, 45 minutes from the sea and 3.5 hours from Paris by train. You will share a furnished flat near the city centre with another volunteer (rent is not charged to the volunteer). You will receive food and pocket money each month to cover day-to-day living expenses (about 590€/month), support for travel to and from the project, a health and house insurance, a bus pass, and up to 40€/month for travelling during free time.
Training during the activity
- European Solidarity Corps seminars and training sessions with other European volunteers in France ; - Online Linguistic Support, French language lessons and registration for a certification exam in French if you wish (that we can also reimbursed).
Participant profile
We are looking for a volunteer with energy & enthusiasm, who is sociable, who likes handiwork, cooking or creative arts and willing to pass on his knowledge! The participant should have an interest in social inclusion and sustainable development. Good inter-personal skills and communication skills in French (B1 or B2 level) would be appreciated because the volunteer will directly interact with French people. The volunteer should preferably have a valid driver's license (travelling throughout the region can be required). Don't hesitate to send us a CV and a motivation letter!
