Ecological and social transition with teenagers and children
Fédération Régionale MJC Occitanie
MJC Aureilhan
AUREILHAN, France
Description
Our structure has over 20 years of experience with young people, we welcome them from 2 to 17 years old. We work to find balance between leisure activities and meaningfull encouters. One of our priority is to increase their participation in order to help them become active citizens. The volunteer will integrate a team with youth workers, trainees and french volunteers. Each of the has its own mission, but we make every voice matter in the decision making process. We've decided to make tha next all about the ecological and social transition. It's up to the ESC volunteer to find a subject he cares about in this area (ecology, equality, racism...). The volunteer will have the time to acomodate and will be able to choose the moment where he-she will want to take part in a project.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The accomodation is in "Foyer des Jeunes Travailleurs" in Tarbes, right near the MJC. It's a walking distance, but we will provide a public transportation card and a SNCF youth card. You will have a T1 flat with private bathroom in a building with other young people. We will help for all the daily life problems (opening a bank account, go to a doctor...). For food, you will have money and a place to cook but most of the meals are included in the MJC or in the FJT's restaurant.
Training during the activity
You will receive a booklet with all the information you need before the departure. During the mission, you will have to reflect on your progress regarding hard and soft skills (french, writing of a project, team work, communication...) in order to complete your Youthepass Of course, you will have access to online training and if needed language lessons (of french or of an other language). Depending on your projet you could also participate in french training sessions.
Participant profile
Some basic French is required. Fluent French is not a requirement if the candidate has some knowledge of English or is motivated to learn French. The volunteer must also be comfortable with human contact and young people. He-she should also have an interest in one of the many topics of the ecological and social transition. If you're motivated, curious, open-minded and want to discover the south-west of France, don't hesitate to join us!
