Description
The project is located in the heart of Suisse-Normande, a rural popular region for nature sports enthusiasts (kayak, bike, horse riding, paragliding, etc.). Objective of the mission : Encourage the discovery of different media related to reading, Develop the artistic and cultural education of children and young people through a project related to books/writing, Facilitate discussions related to a place and/or a reading. You will work in various public places (schools, colleges, youth centres, etc.). Your objective will be to offer workshops at each of these establishments with the aim of sometimes sparking an interest in reading and sometimes encouraging people to create stories (collections of texts, poems, comics, logbooks, etc.). These workshops may take the form of fun games, story time, reading circles, visits to book-related venues (libraries, author meetings, printing works, etc.) and many other possibilities, as the programme will be developed together!
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Homestay : top floor designed to accommodate five young people in single rooms. Shared bathroom, toilet, dining area and kitchen. House located near :castle, organic and fair trade grocery store, bicycle shop, outdoor sports centre. The greenway passes in front of the house, running from the sea to Thury via Caen. Meals are your responsibility (with a financial support). Lunchbox advisable. Catering service for free for you on Wednesday lunchtimes and during school holidays. A bus pass is provided. Bicycle made available. Carpooling opportunities with colleagues, tutors and/or partners.
Training during the activity
Youth and social work, event organization, creation of pedagogical contents, communication, speaking in public. Possibility of following thematic days, or meetings of professionals. Upgrading to Civic First Aid Level 1 training may be considered. The certificate of aptitude for the functions of animator could be envisaged for the young person, ensuring additional learning and national recognition of his ability and investment in the supervision and animation of groups.
Participant profile
To feel comfortable in the project, we recommend candidates : * A minimum level of French, * Previous experience in entertainment and/or with children would be a plus (due to direct contact) * Be comfortable speaking and interacting with others (direct interaction with different audiences) * Ability to work responsibly (know how to ask questions, organise your time, be able to work alone or in a team, etc.) * Appropriate attitude (punctual, appropriate comments/dress, etc.)
