Our project takes place in three different regional centres - in three parts of Slovakia in Púchov, Dolný Kubín and in Veľký Slavkov (near Hight Tatras). The project focuses on working with youth, building respect in the community, bringing new skills and abilities into the lives of young people. During the project you will take part in several camps, clubs, youth group and other activities, weekend events and camps, workshops, international days and our festival. Volunteers help to organise and implement events, bring new perspectives and ideas, and put their ideas into practice. The volunteer is also motivated to implement their own ideas for activities and to collaborate with other volunteers. If you don't like boredom and like to meet new people, this project is for you.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Accomodation: own flat togehter with another volunteer. In Veľký Slavkov volunteers are living in privat part of International youth centre. Food: regular money for food - during the camps ant other events food is provided. In Veľký Slavkov food is partly provided by International centre. Transport: travel costs are provided and volunteer can have a car when is needed.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Upon arrival in Slovakia, the volunteer will have a short introduction to the organisation, the culture, the local community and our language. A Slovak teacher will be available during the year. Volunteers will also complete a health and safety course and a first aid course. Before and during each activity there will be a person / people who will lead accompany you The National Agency in Slovakia provides two compulsory courses for volunteers, On Arrival and Mid term. If the volunteer is interested, we can also provide other training programmes.
Teilnehmerprofil
A volunteer on our project should be open-minded, sociable and have no problem working with young people and children. Previous experience of working with youth is an advantage but not essential. The volunteer should be willing to learn Slovak and new things. At the end of the project the volunteer will gain new practical knowledge and skills in youth work, graphics and multimedia. In addition, he/she will gain work habits, the ability to speak in front of people, communicate in a foreign language, lead a group, cooperate in a team, improve his/her time management and more.
