The power of together

Volunteering in political education, Bremische Bürgerschaft

NaturKultur Bremen e. V.

Bremen, Germany

Description

The Bremen Parliament is the state parliament of the city state of Bremen. They live democracy and parliamentarianism. As the Department for Public Relations/International Affairs, they are responsible for political education. This means that they try to get young people in particular interested in parliament and democratic processes with their own concept (“Klasse Bürgerschaft”). Reconciliation and raising awareness of history is also an important element of the Bremen Parliament’s commemorative work – especially with Bremen’s sister cities. Bremen has eight sister cities and a state cooperation with Namibia. Bremen’s international city relations and regional partnerships make an important contribution to the character of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen as a traditionally cosmopolitan and internationally networked Hanseatic city.
