Opportunity to support an educational organization's initiatives in developing and implementing youth activities in Agualva - Mira Sintra, Sintra Council, Lisbon region. Volunteers engage in various tasks, aligning with different phases of youth and community groups during active periods like summer holidays, special events, and campaigns. Activities by YouthCoop promote social and environmental education, fostering eco-friendly habits in line with Circular Economy principles. Open to all, with focus on ages 13-30, activities take place at Centro Lúdico das Lopas (Agualva) and CircuLar - Casa da Economia Circular (Mira Sintra). Volunteer responsibilities include supervising youth, preparing materials, promoting events, assisting international volunteers, and engaging in daily team tasks.

Volunteers will reside in a community housing complex in the Agualva - Cacém area, conveniently located near transportation, public parks, local shops, community gardens, and naturalized areas. Accommodations consist of individual or shared rooms based on gender/sex, with access to shared amenities including bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, communal social area, vegetable garden, and small private forest. The complex embraces ecological and community principles, housing project volunteers alongside permanent residents and visitors of various ages and cultural backgrounds.

Volunteers will receive guidance and training related to topics of non-formal education, including its principles and methods, as well as instruction on education for sustainability and human rights. They will also receive technical support to integrate into project tasks and participate in two training sessions organized by the National Agency. Linguistic Support during the activity. Candidates should be willing to undertake manual tasks related to material transformation, such as sewing, knitting, woodworking, plastic crafting, recycling, and upcycling.
