Description
The hosting organization carries out statutory goals by initiation and supporting local and international programmers based on the social, economical, and political phenomena including education, culture, environmental protection, healthcare, social assistances and vocational and social rehabilitation. Your tasks will be linked to the whole group of hosted volunteers and will focus on organizing meetings and workshops, preparing articles for the "ESC teaches me something" blog and for Tik Tok, organizing language courses in your mother tongue, supporting the ESC coordinator, preparing meeting documentation, helping with various projects of the host organization in different locations in Krakow and Tychy. So, you'll be working in all the town's offices, supporting the coordinators or organizing your own workshops for the local community (older people, young people or children). The work schedule will be created with you, based on your interests and skills.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will be accommodated in a room in Krakow, shared with another volunteer, in a flat with access to kitchen and bathroom. Flats are furnished and equipped with pillows, duvet covers, pillowcases and washing machine. Internet connection is usually provided, but not assured 100%. In the beginning of each month, you receive pocket money (150 €) and food allowance (70€), paid in a local bank. The travel from Italy to Poland and back is reimbursed, as local transports. You’ll be also covered by the insurance agreed with the European Solidarity Corps, protecting you from any risk.
Training during the activity
You will attend three official training sessions: a pre-departure training before leaving Italy; an on-arrival training in a few weeks after your advent in Poland; a midterm training, around the half of the volunteering experience. Other meetings will be frequently organized with people concerned with the project. You’ll be offered Poland online language classes.
Participant profile
Are you someone with good communicational skills and a good English? They will be an asset; you will cooperate with other people on daily basis. You must be open for challenges, creative, empathetic and with good sense of humor. You should possess organization and time management skills. Your passion about photography, writing, social media content are welcomed.
