Description

Info Integration (Belgian Red Cross) is the reference centre for migration and integration in the German speaking Community of Belgium. Our main tasks are: - the consultation of clients on topics such as right of residence and residency permits, right to international protection, family etc. - the support and accompaniment of the participants of the Integration Programme in the German-speaking Community of Belgium - awareness campaigns and public relations - counselling and supervision of schools with focus on diversity - workshops and trainings

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Our office is located in Eupen, a small city close to the German border, with nearly 20.000 inhabitants. The accommodation will be in Eupen as well. There are many other volunteers in different projects here and our volunteer will share a flat with a volunteer of another project. A subscription to the local public transport network will be provided. There will be no food provided by the office but the volunteer will have an allowance to buy their own food.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in the On Arrival and Mid Term Training sessions organized by the national agency. The volunteer also has the possibility to attend various trainings by the Belgian Red Cross. They will also have the possibility to attend trainings related to the topics of migration/anti-racism/anti-discrimination organized by our office or other local institutions.

Participant profile

Having an open mind regarding other cultures is very important for our choice of volunteer. In addition to that, the volunteer should have particular interest in the topics of migration,anti-discrimnation and anti-racism. Other criteria, such as nationality, gender or religion do not play any role in our selection, but speaking German (B2) is a must.
