During 10 months you will be able to bring your help to a local high school by promoting Europe and mobility. You will be able to meet the public of Mayenne and to testify of your experience as a volunteer, to make them discover your culture in schools. Possible tasks for the volunteer include various activities such as the Language Café, assisting librarians in the European Space of the Documentation and Information Center, projects related to Erasmus+, organizing Erasmus Days, ecological initiatives within the « Tomorrow the Earth » project, cultural exchanges with young people, activities related to student safety, and school and boarding school activities on Wednesday afternoons.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
You will receive pocket and food money at the beginning of each month. Accomodation will be in a youth dormitory called Habitat Jeunes Laval. You will be hosted in a fully equiped appartment with 1 other ESC. You will have you own room. You have the possibility to cook in your appartment or to eat in the canteen. Every evening , they propose animations for the inhabitants (sport evenings, cultural evening, games etc..) Transportation from home country to Laval and return will be paid up to 275€ or 360€ depending on the distance, as the transportation to Mayenne everyday by bus.
Formação durante a atividade
Volunteers will follow a starting seminar at the beginning of their projects with other ESC volunteers in France. They will have a second seminar in the middle of the project. These seminars are compulsory and organised by the French National Agency. OLS access will be given to follow French courses + possibility to follow French classes in presential. Training course about the European Union will be provided by the House of Europe (coordinating organisation) to allow the volunteers to have all informations and documents to become ambassadors of Europe and mobility in their host organisation.
Perfil do participante
We are looking for a person who is motivated to work with teenagers from rural areas and who are far away from international mobility and European topics. You'll need to be comfortable speaking in front of this audience, to be pedagogic and patient. You need to have interest in youth work or education and European topics. Being creative and having imagination to create new projects with the school.
