Przasnysz Municipal Library is a public institution responsible for keeping more than 50,000 books and making them accessible to the inhabitants of this city. It also organizes concerts, technological workshops, book discussion clubs, language courses and other events thought with the aim of reaching all age groups.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

The two volunteers share a flat located 15 minutes away from the library. It has a living room with an open kitchen, a bathroom and a shared bedroom. The volunteers can cook their own meals in the kitchen after having bought their groceries. To do that they will receive a food allowance of 150 euros per month. As Przasnysz is a small town, one can go everywhere by walking. To go to Warsaw, volunteers must take regional buses. The travel takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes and its price is not covered by the European Solidarity Corps.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

The volunteer will receive an On-Arrival-Training at the beginning and a Mid-Term-Evaluation after half of their time.

Teilnehmerprofil

Two volunteers support the staff in the preparation and running the activities and take charge of the library’s social media channels (such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube). They are also invited to develop their own initiatives, especially if they add some intercultural dimension to the library program. Interest in Polish culture and literature is an important aspect
